I. ORIGINS
Emigrated to America 15 April 1635 aboard the INCREASE from London, aged 35, a husbandman, with wife Elizabeth, aged 31, and children Elizabeth, aged 13, Matthew, aged 8, Mary, aged 6, Sarah, aged 3, and Hannah, aged 6 months. Also with them is Isaac Moore, age 13, a direct-line ancestor who settles in Connecticut. (NEHGR 14:311)

II. LIFE IN NEW ENGLAND
Matthew Marvin married Alice ____, [widow] wife of John Boughton, Sr., after they were both widowed."
He went with Thomas Hooker to Hartford, where he was an original proprietor in 1638. From there he want to Norwalk, CT 1650-51.
He was one of the original grantees of Norwalk and steeled there in 1653; was a representative in 1654.

Matthew married Elizabeth GREGORY before 1623 in England. Elizabeth was born about 1603 in England; died before 1647. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

1. Abigail MARVIN was born in 1636 in Hartford, Connecticut, USA; died in Oct 1680 in Norwalk, Fairfield, Connecticut, USA.
