    They lived together in Encino, Calif., until 1998 then resided in both Chicago and Palm Beach, Fla., until finally settling in Las Vegas in 2002. At 15, Judi was a professional ice skater in the Ice Follies until 1951 when she suffered a serious skiing accident which ended her skating career. Soon after, George Burns "discovered" her at the Pasadena Play House and asked her to join the cast of the Burns and Allen Show. Judi went on to co-star and star, under the name Judi MEREDITH, in numerous television shows and films, many of which were memorable such as: Summer Love, Jack the Giant Killer, Night Walker, Queen of Blood, Gunsmoke, Have Gun will Travel, Wagon Train, Bonanza and Hawaii Five-O to name a few. It was on Hotel de Paree where she met a then young assistant director named Gary Nelson. Not long after, Judi agreed to star on the TV show "Have Gun Will Travel" for free if Gary would be allowed to direct.     He first came to Bayfield from Turtle River in the year 1870.

    He owned N. & F. Boutin, a fish dealing company, with his brother Nelson.

    In 1870, the Boutin family moved their fishing business to Bayfield, with as many as 100 fishermen. The Depression also shook up the commercial fishing industry. The Boutin Fish Company went out of business after more than 60 years as a leader in the local fishing industry. In the 1870s & 1880s, they were the largest fish dealers in the Lake Superior area before the A. Booth Packing Company arrived in 1885. The Booth company was the giant of the Great Lakes fish dealers.

    The Boutins opened a barrel making factory and a dry goods store to sell supplies to their employees when they move to Bayfield in 1870 and quicly became the largest employer in Bayfield.

    In the early 1880s, N.&F. Boutin split into two firms : Nelson Boutin partnered with Samuel E. Mahan to from Boutin & Mahan, and Frank Boutin went into business under his own name.

    Before 1903, the Dormer-Boutin Fish Company was active.
    In 1910, Jacob Johnson sold his company to Sollie Boutin. The S.L. Boutin Fish Company was run by Sollie Boutin

    For years he has also conducted a general store on Washington avenue and Front street, the building he erected being one of the land marks of the city. Mr. Boutin has always been one of the prominent business men of North Wisconsin and for years has been identified with the Northern National bank, of Ashland, as director.
